Tumblr, I have forsaken you.

Soooo… after a lot of going back and forth about it, I’ve decided to move my blog over to wordpress.  I know.  Damn the man.  They got another one.  But please subscribe to my wordpress blog (even though for all three of you who are following me on tumblr, that may be just a tad bit more hassle… but don’t pretend for a second that you’re too busy to be curious about what my blog over on wordpress has to say : )).  Here’s it is: unlostwanderer.wordpress.com.  Please enjoy.

STOP IT.  these look soooo yummy right now.  the fact that they’re so pretty doesn’t even make me think twice about eating every last one of them.  this will be on my life list: savoring macarons while i people watch in a park in paris.

If I could only wear one thing every day, it would probably be this.  Perhaps sans heels, but hell, if I looked this good, I’d bear the pain.

A Really Good Deal

So I hadn’t been on craigslist in a really long time because it’s been more than a year since I last moved.  But I forgot all of the great entertainment to be found there, especially the random shit people try to pawn off as actually of value and worth selling.  Case in point: red tupperware sandwich holder.  There are several hilarious things about this post, worth noting:

1. They’re in Manassas (strike one).

2. WHERE would one even buy opaque, bright red tupperware if you tried?

3. Since when are sandwiches circular?

4. I like that they point out that it’s never used. Never been used, you say?  I’ll take it!  Can I write you out a check for $2?

Corner — Allie Moss

I discovered this song via songsonrepeat (thanks, sam).  Her voice is so crystal clear… it’s therapeutic to listen to.  It makes me think of things like sunshine, green fields, and popsicles.  Also, don’t you wish when you had a lot of things in your life hanging over you (moving), you could just hide in the corner until it all resolves itself and goes away (wow, suddenly my room’s all empty and my bags are all packed??)?  That would be fantastic.

ugh. sunday nights are a terrible time of the week.  a whole week of work looms ahead.  this comic isn’t really related in any way to work, but i have it up at my work desk, and it’s about robots, which for some reason i find especially hilarious.  (c’mon… you know you love robots.)  check out wondermark.com for some other ways to kill time while you’re supposed to be doing something productive to maximize profits, or something like that…

oh. my. god. i need to move out of my house in two weeks and i’ve discovered that i have SOOO MUUCCHH CRAAAP.  somehow in the last three years that i’ve been living in DC i’ve accumulated massive amounts of stuff.  stuff that i haven’t seen or used in about 2 years and 10 months.  and somehow it made the move with me through three different apartments.  i am haunted by visions of the new show on A&E called Hoarders.  please don’t let that be me.
i did, however, uncover this gem that stacey (oywei) sent me a few halloweens ago—i believe it’s a reflector necklace to wear so cars can see you when you’re out trick-or-treating at night.  so you don’t get hit.  and it’s even made in the shape of a ghost, because that’s in the holiday spirit.  thanks stace.  i can’t believe i never put this to use.  also, thanks for thinking of the extra poundage i must’ve put on after college by sending me the 14-inch necklace, which, if you can see, you noted was for “husky kids.”  i’m thinking of bringing this out to the bars with us tonight.  seriously.

Re: Stacks - Bon Iver

Okay, I’ll give it up to Min, Stacey, and Sam who clued me into Tumblr.  It’s really easy to use (although, granted, I’ve never really tried using other blogging sites).  Except. Except that posting audio files has proven more difficult than I’d like, because, well, I don’t own any mp3s of music that I’ve discovered since oh, about 2001.  (But don’t you worry, I’ll probably post some throwback tunes like Motown Philly by Boyz II Men every now and then.)

But that might change soon as I just found out imeem.com (my favorite website for streaming, organizing, and discovering music—get on that train if you haven’t yet) is selling some albums for $4.99, the only one of which is worth buying is For Emma, Forever Ago by Bon Iver.  I will definitely give up 5 bucks for one of my favorite overall albums of probably the last couple years.  I’ve been listening to it a lot today, which, if you’re familiar with it, gives you an idea of the mood I’m in. This album is so ethereal, yet so heartbreakingly human.  This song, especially, is just so beaaautiful.
